World Teachers’ Day

Friday 28th October is World Teacher’s Day. On this day we acknowledge and thank all the staff at St. Clare’s for always working towards providing the best possible opportunities for our students. Our teachers, school officers and support staff work extremely hard to make St. Clare’s the amazing community that it is. We will celebrate on Friday with a morning tea, made possible with contributions from our P&F, Catholic Education Services Cairns and St. Clare’s. Thank you St. Clare’s you are a very special staff.

Day for Daniel and Catholic Mission Donations

On Friday October 28, students are invited to wear red for Day for Daniel, along with some crazy socks, in recognition of Socktober. We kindly ask that students bring in a gold coin donation on this day to go towards Catholic Mission.

The focus for Catholic Mission in the 2022 Socktober Challenge is working with the Lideta Catholic Cathedral School in Ethiopia to provide scholarships to students from low-income families, who otherwise could not attend. Priority is given to orphans, children of single mothers, children with parents who are unemployed or on a low-income, and children of parents who are no longer working and have no access to a pension. Thank you for making a donation to assist these underprivileged children to gain an education.

All Saints Day and Melbourne Cup Day

On Tuesday November 1 we will acknowledge All Saints Day with a mass at 10am in the church. As the Melbourne Cup Hat Parades will be held before and after the mass, we invite parents and families to come along and join us for both events.

Scholastic Book Fair

Book Fair is coming to the School Library from Monday November 7th to Friday 11th 2022

Scholastic Book Fair is the perfect place for children to discover a love of books and ignite a lifelong passion for reading.

Come into the library and browse with your child to select some possible choices. Have fun choosing books together!

You are invited to purchase and donate a book which will make a welcome addition to the School Library, a commemorative bookplate will be placed inside the book with your family or child’s name.

There will be a competition running during the Book Fair. When you buy a book/s your child will go into a draw for a free book of their choice from the book fair. Every book sold receives a free ticket, drawn after the Book Fair closes. It is also a great time to buy for Christmas gift giving.

This year we can no longer accept credit card payments on site.  Online payments to be made before receiving books from the fair.  Your child will receive a brochure, instructions on the back of the brochure for online purchasing.  Paying by Cash will still be an option, on the day you purchase  books.

Hope to see you at the Book Fair
