On Friday July 31st, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland and Mrs de Jersey visited Tully.
Ms Harney and our School Captains, Emily and Alex, were invited to attend the special ceremony held at Tully State School. Thank you to Tully State School Principal, Ms Jennifer Sloane, and their staff and school leaders for preparing and leading the ceremony.
His Excellency addressed the students and later spoke to school leaders from Tully State School, St. Clare’s School and Tully State High School. The three schools prepared tables showing samples of work which the students discussed with both the Governor and Mrs de Jersey. Also present at the ceremony was the Honourable Bob Katter MP, our local Mayor, Cr Mark Nolan, and some of our local Councillors.
Our school captains, Emily and Alex, were great ambassadors of St Clare’s and were given a Governor’s coin from His Excellency.
