Term 3 has gone by so very quickly as we now look ahead to the holiday break and spending time with our families and friends. As usual the term has been jam packed, we have been involved in Rugby, Netball, Cricket, Science Day, Book Week, as well as all our usual learning!
Of course the highlight of the term has to be the Fete! What a fantastic turnout. The time and effort that goes into making the St. Clare’s Fete such an outstanding night cannot be applauded enough. We need our whole community to come together and commit their time and skills to make events such as these so spectacularly successful. But we particularly need to thank the Fete Committee for your organisation and coordination of this wonderful community event. I am sure you will all agree the beach theme was a great idea! We also express huge thanks and gratitude to everyone else involved, many of whom are listed in our latest newsletter.
Term 4 looks just as exciting and is a 10 week term – Year 4 will go on their camp in the first week of term and our Water Safety Program will begin, culminating with the Swimming Carnival in Week 8.
The term will see us celebrate Grandparents’ Day. If your child has grandparents who are able to attend, please ask them to keep the morning of Friday October 25 free. This will actually be a HUGE day at St Clare’s, where we will wear red (for Day for Daniel), with crazy socks (for Socktober) and celebrate Grandparents’ Day, Staff Appreciation Day, and end the day with a bang with our annual Mini Fete. More information around these events will be sent out in Term 4.
Mental Health Week in Queensland is acknowledged during October 5-13 this year. Our school counsellor, Sharon Scouller, and Ms Chappel will be working with some of our Year 5 and 6 students on some activities for the students during this week. Please note that on Friday October 13, students are invited to wear green in support of Mental Health Week.
